Membership

  • Membership fees are generally non-refundable, except where required by law

Commitment Period

Fees

Full Terms & Conditions

  1. About Us

Wexford Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre (“the Leisure Centre”, “we”, “us”) provides leisure and fitness facilities to members.

  1. Membership Agreement

2.1 By joining the Leisure Centre, you enter into a contract with us and agree to:

  • These Terms and Conditions
  • The Leisure Centre Rules

2.2 You must provide accurate and complete information when applying.

2.3 We reserve the right to refuse membership applications where reasonable.

  1. Consumer Rights (Important)

3.1 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under Irish law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022.

3.2 If you purchase your membership:

  • Online, or
  • Off-premises (e.g. over the phone)

You may have a 14-day cooling-off period, during which you can cancel your membership for a full refund, unless you have requested immediate access to the services.

  1. Membership Types & Duration

4.1 Your membership type determines your fees, access rights, and commitment period.

4.2 Commitment Period:
You agree to remain a member for a minimum agreed term.

4.3 Monthly Memberships:
Continue automatically after the commitment period until cancelled. Cancellation requires 7 days’ notice in writing.

4.4 Upfront Memberships:
End automatically at the end of the agreed term.

  1. Fees and Payments

5.1 Membership fees are clearly displayed before purchase.

5.2 We may change fees by giving at least 30 days’ notice.

5.3 A fee of €10 may be charged for each failed payment attempt.

5.4 If your account remains unpaid for 30 days, we may:

  • Suspend access to the Leisure Centre
  • Terminate your membership
  • Seek recovery of outstanding amounts

5.5 We may recover reasonable and proportionate costs of unpaid debts, where permitted by law.

5.6 Administrative fees (up to €50) may apply for services such as:

  • Replacing lost cards
  • Changing membership details
  1. Use of Facilities

6.1 You may only use the Leisure Centre if your membership is active and payments are up to date.

6.2 Opening hours and facility availability may change. Where possible, we will give reasonable notice.

6.3 You must comply with all Leisure Centre Rules and health & safety instructions.

  1. Freezing (Suspending) Membership

7.1 You may request a temporary suspension of your membership for medical reasons.

7.2 Suspensions:

  • Minimum: 1 month
  • Maximum: 3 months

7.3 We may request reasonable evidence (e.g. a medical certificate).

7.4 Suspension periods will extend your commitment period accordingly.

  1. Cancellation and Termination

8.1 Your Right to Cancel

During the Commitment Period:
You may not cancel early unless:

  • You have a serious medical condition preventing use (minimum 6 months), or
  • We make significant changes to the service (see below)

After the Commitment Period:
You may cancel your membership by giving notice.

8.2 Notice Period

  • At least 7 days’ written notice is required
  • Your membership will end at the end of the next billing cycle

8.3 Cancellation Due to Changes

You may cancel your membership if we:

  • Significantly reduce facilities or opening hours
  • Permanently relocate the Leisure Centre
  • Close the Leisure Centre for more than 30 consecutive days

We will provide reasonable notice (normally at least 30–45 days).

8.4 Cooling-Off Cancellation

Where applicable (see Section 3), you may cancel within 14 days for a full refund, subject to usage.

8.5 Our Right to Terminate

We may terminate your membership if:

  • You seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms or Leisure Centre Rules
  • You fail to pay fees
  • You provide false information

Any charges retained will be fair and proportionate.

  1. Membership Cards

9.1 Membership cards remain the property of the Leisure Centre.

9.2 Cards are personal and must not be shared. Misuse may result in termination.

9.3 Lost cards must be reported. Replacement fees may apply.

  1. Liability

10.1 We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

10.2 We are responsible for loss or damage caused by our negligence.

10.3 We are not responsible for:

  • Loss of personal belongings not caused by our negligence
  • Events outside our reasonable control

10.4 You use lockers and storage facilities at your own risk unless loss is caused by our negligence.

  1. Health & Safety

11.1 You must follow all health and safety instructions and signage.

11.2 You should not use facilities if doing so may pose a risk to your health or others.

  1. Changes to Terms

12.1 We may update these Terms from time to time.

12.2 Where changes are significant, we will give reasonable notice.

12.3 Changes will not reduce your statutory rights.

  1. Sale or Transfer of the Leisure Centre

13.1 If the Leisure Centre is sold or transferred, your membership may be transferred to the new operator.

13.2 Your rights under this agreement and Irish law will not be reduced.

14.2 Notices must be in writing. We may request proof of delivery where necessary.

Pool Rules

  1. Children under 8 MUST be accompanied by an adult in the water at all times
  2. Children under 12 MUST to be supervised by an adult from pool gallery at all times
  3. No glass or ceramic bottles/container on pool area
  4. Appropriate swim wear and hats must be worn.
  5. Please Shower before using Pool, Sauna or Steam Room.
  6. Please use the Bathroom before entering the Pool, Sauna or Steam Room.
  7. NO large inflatables allowed in the Pool.
  8. We advise pregnant women and people with heart conditions not to use the Sauna or Steam room.
  9. The use of Cameras/Phones or any recording devices is Prohibited in the Pool and changing area
  10. No Food or Drink allowed at Pool side. Only Plastic Water Bottles are allowed.
  11. Flip-Flops or Pool shoes only on pool deck 
  12. No Running, Diving, bombing or jumping into pool. 
  13. No Rough play, shouting or boisterous behaviour 
  14. Only persons Over 16 are permitted use the Sauna or Steam Room
  15. Shaving and exfoliating are not permitted in the Sauna or Steam Room
  16. Swimming lane is for continuous swim only/training 
  17. Children’s pool hours (under16 years of age) between 9am to 7pm
  18. Be Respectful and Courteous to other Pool users, inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated 
  19. People under the influence of alcohol are not permitted to use the facilities
  20. Infants and children who are not yet toilet trained must wear an approved swim nappy.
  21. Prams and buggies are not permitted in the gym or pool area
  22. No fins allowed in the Swimming Pool unless part of training session in the lane. 
  23. Open swim times are subject to change 
  24. Only instructors/coaches that are authorised by Management are permitted to advise/instruct/Teach in Wexford Swimming Pool
  25. Management reserves the right of admission and has absolute right to remove any guest or member at any time.
  26. For Safety in the Pool area please always follow instructions from the Leisure Centre Staff 
  27. Please do not leave personal items in lockers overnight 

Gym Rules

  1. Please ensure you have scan bar code card in at reception.
  2. Insure you have your medical screening and gym induction completed before using the gym.
  3. You MUST be over 16 to use the gym. I.D may be required
  4. Only instructors/coaches that are authorised by Management are permitted to advise/instruct customers in the gym 
  5. Proper Footwear and clothing to be worn. NO flip-flops or bear feet allowed at any time.
  6. The use of Cameras/Phones or any recording devices is Prohibited.
  7. Please mindful of other gym users when busy and restrict machine times to 20 minutes.
  8. Do not Delay on weights machines when the gym is busy. 
  9. Replace weights when finished with them.
  10. Please use the disinfectant provided to clean down gym equipment when finished.
  11. Be Respectful and Courteous to other Gym users.
  12. No bags allowed on gym floor at any time.
  13. Use only one machine/ equipment at a time.
  14. Management reserves the right of admission and has absolute right to remove any guest or member at any time.
  15. People under the influence of alcohol are not permitted to use the facilities
  16. Please do not drop or throw dumb bells and bars. 
  17. No Chalk permitted in the gym 
  18. Please do not leave personal items in lockers overnight
